Music Creation, Production and Performance

Music Creation, Production and Performance is the international programme of Cours Florent Musique, designed for creative artists who wish to develop both their production and performance skills while immersing themselves in the vibrant and dynamic artistic culture of Paris.

The programme is rooted in the distinctive Cours Florent approach, where creation, interpretation and identity are inseparable. It combines technical mastery with artistic exploration, guiding students towards becoming complete, autonomous and expressive musicians.

At the heart of the programme lies one central idea:
“To be an artist is to create, perform, and define one’s own unique artistic identity.”

Programme Structure

The programme is built around three complementary axes, designed to develop the artist as a creator, a performer, and a cultural explorer.

Together, they form a holistic and immersive learning experience.

  1. Creation Axis - Producing, Composing, and Creative Writing
  2. Performance Axis - Voice, Stage, and Live Production
  3. Cultural Immersion Axis - French Language and Artistic Context

Students follow an average of 21 hours of classes per week, alternating thematically between the different axes: one week dedicated to creation, the next to performance, with the French Language & Cultural Immersion component running continuously throughout the academic year.

This rhythm encourages artistic versatility, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and linguistic immersion, allowing students to build both their artistic and cultural fluency as they evolve in the workshop that is Paris.

  1. Transversal Module - Creative Soft Skills

Running across all three axes, the Creative Soft Skills Module focuses on developing the human and relational intelligence that defines today’s professional artist.

It strengthens three essential dimensions of creative collaboration:

  • Relational Intelligence – understanding group dynamics, empathy and active listening within artistic teams.
  • Communicational Intelligence – enhancing clarity, self-expression and emotional communication in rehearsal, studio and live-performance contexts.
  • Collective Intelligence – learning to co-create, share ideas and lead creative processes with openness and trust.

This transversal module nurtures self-awareness and collaboration, helping students embody the ethos of the programme: producing and performing together with creativity, innovation and consciousness.

Foundations and artistic identity

The first year establishes a shared creative foundation, both technical and artistic, while guiding each student towards the development of a personal artistic identity.

Students alternate weekly between creation and performance, while continuously engaging in French language learning and cultural immersion.

By the end of the first year, students are expected to produce:

  • One or two original tracks, professionally mixed and ready for release on streaming platforms, demonstrating their creative and production skills.
  • A live performance portfolio, presented both within the school and in external venues, showcasing their stage work and collaborative experience.
  • A Creative Journal, documenting their artistic process – from songwriting to live production – including reflections, research notes, self-assessment and production methodology.

This year combines exploration, experimentation and artistic affirmation — the moment when students begin to discover their own voice.

Artistic affinities and professional development

In the second year, all students continue studying both composition and vocal identity, while being invited to express a personal artistic affinity – either towards composition and production, or towards vocal and performance development.

The programme maintains a shared core structure to ensure a common foundation in creation and interpretation, while adapting weekly hours and project focus to each student’s chosen orientation.

By the end of the second year, students are expected to:

  • Produce an EP of 4 to 5 original tracks, professionally mixed and ready for distribution on streaming platforms.
  • Design and perform a live portfolio of 20-25 minutes, presented both within the school and in external professional settings (partner venues, showcases or festivals).
  • Submit a comprehensive Creative Journal, reflecting their evolution as producers and performers, documenting compositions, creative collaborations and live performance production.

This phase emphasises autonomy, professional readiness and the ability to carry a project from conception to public presentation.

Professionalization and artistic project completion

The third year marks the transition from artistic training to professional integration.
It is dedicated to the structuring, realisation and public presentation of each student’s complete artistic project.

All courses maintain the same weekly rhythm, but are oriented towards professionalisation, providing students with the tools, methods and mindset required to build a sustainable career in today’s creative industries.

Students develop advanced skills in:

  • Creative Communication, defining artistic messaging, storytelling and visual identity.
  • Entrepreneurship & Project Management, understanding the business and legal frameworks of the music industry, and learning how to structure and finance artistic projects.
  • Innovation & Digital Presence, using technology, social media and digital tools to build visibility, connect with audiences and create artistic impact.
  • Career Development & Networking, building a professional portfolio, preparing interviews and developing long-term career strategies.

By the end of the third year, students must present two major deliverables:

  • A complete album, fully produced and ready for release, representing the culmination of their artistic journey at Cours Florent Musique.
  • A Professional Portfolio & Dossier, including an artistic statement, visual identity, values, communication strategy and career plan, positioning them as emerging professionals within the international music scene.

This final year consolidates all the skills acquired throughout the programme, empowering students to enter the global industry as independent, innovative and expressive artists.

Workload and Schedule

The programme represents approximately 21 hours per week, combining group classes, creation labs, performance workshops and one-to-one coaching.

This steady rhythm enables students to maintain a strong creative discipline while balancing creation, performance, cultural immersion and soft skills development, ensuring artistic growth and integration within the Parisian creative scene.

Pedagogical Vision

The Cours Florent Musique method combines creative experimentation, artistic identity development and professional preparation.

Students are encouraged to find their own sound, their own language and their own presence on stage.

Music Creation, Production and Performance is more than a music programme, it is a journey of self-discovery, creation and expression.

It brings together students from around the world around a shared ambition:
to create original music, perform it authentically, and build a meaningful artistic identity.
