Tanya Mattouk est chargée de cours de la formation Acting in English du Cours Florent. Dernièrement, elle a animé un stage Acting in English à distance. Elle nous parle de cette nouvelle expérience.

• Qu'avez-vous enseigné durant cette semaine de stage Acting in English à distance ?

La méthodologie anglo-saxonne est fondée sur des techniques de jeu à travers des outils d'analyse de texte très précis, mais également à travers le corps en mouvement. Nous nous sommes penchés sur ces aspects de façon ludique grâce à des exercices, de l'improvisation et du travail de scènes. 

• Comment vous êtes-vous adapté à la "contrainte" du virtuel ?

La "contrainte" du virtuel s'est révélée être une force, notamment si l'on décide de se concentrer sur le travail de la voix ou du mouvement.

• Qu'est-ce qui change entre un stage Acting in English en présentiel et un stage à distance ?

Ce qui change entre un stage physique et un stage à distance, c'est le contact humain évidemment. Mais l'énergie reste la même et ce qui ne change pas, c'est l'apprentissage et la joie de jouer !

• La distance entre les participants peut susciter des interrogations, comment avez-vous fait pour créer une bonne cohésion de groupe ?

Nous travaillons aussi bien individuellement que collectivement: le fait d'être à distance permet cette flexibilité de façon intuitive. La cohésion de groupe s'est faite naturellement : le rituel des cours à la même heure, le fait d'allumer son microphone ou sa caméra tous ensemble, d'être prêt à se dépasser en même temps donne cette sensation de groupe. Les élèves apprennent très vite à se connaître, même s'ils ne se sont jamais rencontrés physiquement.

• Qu'est-ce qui selon vous fait la force de ces stages à distance ?

Selon moi, la force des stages à distance s'inscrit dans son confort : l'élève bénéficie d'un entraînement pointu et divertissant depuis chez lui.

• Un conseil à un élève qui souhaiterait faire un stage virtuel ?

Si j'avais un conseil à donner à un élève qui souhaite réaliser un stage à distance, c'est d'être tout aussi dynamique et rigoureux que dans un stage en présentiel et surtout, d'être prêt à apprendre en s'amusant !

Tanya Mattouk is teacher of Acting in English. Recently, she led an Acting in English online workshop. We spoke with her to get her feedback.

• What did you teach during this online workshop Acting in English?

The Acting in English course is based on a specific methodology, from text analysis to work on physicality. I teach this toolbox in a playful and active way through exercises, improvisations and scene work.

• How have you adapted to the "constraint" of the virtual?

Working on stream can be a great tool whether we decide to focus on voice work or movement.

• What is the difference between a physical internship and a distance learning internship?

The difference between a live workshop and an online workshop lies in the physical contact, obviously. But the energy and the joy of learning and acting remain the same !

• The distance between participants may raise questions, how did you create a good group cohesion?

Students work individually and collectively : we find this flexibility quite intuitively in an online workshop. The students bond as a group very quickly : the ritual of connecting at the same time, them turning on their camera and microphone together, them being ready and willing to learn and step out of their comfort zone, helps them to create a sense of the collective. They get to know each other easily, even if they have never been face to face.

• What do you think is the strength of these distance learning courses?

Online workshops can be quite convenient : students get specialised training from the comfort of their home !

• Any advice for a student who would like to do an online workshop ?

My advice for any future student of an online workshop would be to be as dynamic and disciplined as they would be in a live workshop, in order to truly learn and have fun !
